Talk about a donation of time and money…

Usually when you think of non-profit organizations, well-intended persons and corporations, donating time and money come to mind. Well that is the case here, sort of… In the case of SNAP, the Houston-based Spay-Neuter Assistance Program, this “time” and “money” took the form of an Emmy Award winning Public Service Campaign when KHOU-TV Director of Public Relations, Wendy Burkeen, and Creative Director Lou Congelio with Associate Creative Director Josh Powers of STANANDLOU Advertising, along with VT2 General Manager Cliff Davis created this powerful campaign.

This salute from The Lone Star Chapter of the National Television Academy was granted on Saturday, October 15, 2005 in Dallas. “It is truly rare, to see such media powerhouses come together in true collaboration and to do it all pro-bono,” said Dr. James Weedon, CEO of SNAP.  The quality and strategy behind the work, featuring the popular Lisa Foronda of KHOU channel 11 news, has proven results for the SNAP organization, “When the campaign runs on channel 11, it is hard to keep up with the phones it is fantastic,” stated Gwen McGough, Manager of the SNAP spay-nueter surgery clinic.

“The campaign has truly given power to our message and enabled greater community awareness of our flagship mobile clinic program,” continued Susan Lamb, Manager Community Programs and leader of the SNAP mobile clinic, the only spay-neuter program of its type offering free in-neighborhood procedures for persons and their animal companions utilizing government assistance.
