SNAP needs you. Our work to stop the tragedy of animal overpopulation takes a lot of hands, and sometimes we don't have enough. Won't you come help us? We have roles for dedicated people with all kinds and degrees of skill in our Houston and San Antonio offices and at many of the events we sponsor or participate in.

Volunteer Profile
If you are interested in helping, please fill out our Online Volunteer Profile Form. You may also download a PDF file version of the form, print it out, complete it and send it in. You must have the Acrobat Reader program installed on your computer to be able to view and print this file. Someone will be in touch with you soon about how you can help SNAP accomplish its goal of ending the destruction of unwanted cats and dogs. Volunteer Orientation
If you live in the Houston area, please consider attending one of our Volunteer Orientation sessions. Sessions occur on the first Saturday of each month from Noon to 1:00 p.m. If you wish to attend a session, please RSVP by calling (713-862-3863) or by emailing Paul Hidalgo. Sessions only take place if we have confirmed attendees. Sessions are held at our administrative office. Please see our event calendar for additional details and a map.

Current Volunteer Opportunities
|
The Houston Surgery Clinic needs volunteers to answer phones, schedule appointments and provide information to callers. Training will be provided. Shifts are available Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The SNAP Administrative Office needs a volunteer to compile press clippings and media stories about SNAP from news and animal-related websites, the Houston Chronicle, local newspapers, etc.
The SNAP Administrative Office needs a volunteer 6-10 hours a month to help with office projects such as mailings, event preparation, press clippings, etc.

The 2009 Fall Bayou City Art Festival approaches, and we need literally hundreds of volunteers to help us staff the beverage booths on both days. The fall and spring art festivals are our biggest fundraisers of the year, and we depend on you to make them a success. What's involved? Just selling beverages to thirsty festival-goers! How does this help SNAP? SNAP gets to keep all tips, and we get a percentage of the funds raised by beverage sales. These funds are then put to use spaying and neutering cats and dogs. The festival runs Saturday, October 10, through Sunday, October 11, in downtown Houston near City

To volunteer, please email Paul Hidalgo at phidalgo@snapus.org or call him Monday - Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m at 713-862-3863. Be ready to tell him which day you would like to work. You will receive a free festival t-shirt if one is available in your size. If so, you are asked to wear it during your shift. You will also receive FREE admission to the festival on the day of your shift, so have a look around before or after your shift.
