SNAP, BARC and FCAP have embarked on this project as a humane solution to the growing number of neighborhood homeless/unowned cats. The City of Houston BARC data indicates that 77011 and 77023 are in the top ten of zip codes with the highest number of cat “nuisance calls”, city cat pick ups or owner cat turn ins. Trapping, Neutering and Releasing (TNR) is the humane solution.
SNAP/BARC/FCAP need the community’s help. You know where these kitties are. In return we will loan out traps, train in trapping, provide FREE spay neuter surgery and a FREE rabies vaccination.
Traps will be available to borrow at Ripley House-Neighborhood Centers between 4-8:30 p.m., Thursday, October 14 and between 4-8 p.m. on Friday, October 15. These traps are being made available by BARC free of charge. You will need to sign them out and expected to return them to Ripley House-Neighborhood Centers on Wednesday, October 20 between 4-8:30 p.m. Traps are available on a first come first serve basis.
Please arrive with your cats in traps at Ripley House at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 16.
